Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The National Communication Authority on Wednesday launched a national table of 42 frequencies allocated to authorized radio stations across the country.<\/p>\n

There are 42 legally registered radio stations in the country \u2013 the majority of which are community-based.<\/p>\n

The table dubbed as South Sudan Radio Frequency Spectrum is to make frequency bands available for new services and applications without causing constraints to incumbent services.<\/p>\n

NCA says the table is a key instrument providing the general plan for spectrum use and ensuring systematic allocations and assignments of radio frequencies.<\/p>\n

The South Sudan National Table of Frequency Allocation is derived from the international frequency allocations of Article 5 which provides a breakdown of the current and future frequency allocation between 8.3KHz and 30 GHz.<\/p>\n

NCA Managing Director, Napoleon Adok devised radio managers to stick to broadcasting through their allocated frequencies to prevent interferences between radio services.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we have done is to provide the guideline so that people know the frequency band, frequencies are like border lines so when you are being assigned a frequency, you have to know how to broadcast through it and what are the levels so that others don\u2019t interfere,\u201d Adok told Eye Radio.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these radios that you see around, must operate within the guided line that has been provided by the country. This is the first time we are releasing our frequency allocation table,<\/p>\n

\u201cAny radio Engineer or any radio practitioner whether you run a telephone network satellite in South Sudan, you know exactly which band you are operating in,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe radio managers need to read this document very keenly especially if you intend to set up a broadcasting system across the country\u201d.<\/p>\n
