Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Residents inGurei Block five decried lack of school and called on the gov\u2019t to build a schoolin the area in order to enroll their children at affordable fees.<\/p>\n

While addressing the media during one-day training for women held in Gurei yesterday, Luka Sebit Galaliya, are a leader called on the gov\u2019t to build at least a primary school for the block.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur children are suffering; we need at least one school to be built here in our block this can help most of us who have little money to enroll our children,\u201d Sebit said.<\/p>\n

He called onthe government to help the people suffering in Gurei \u201cmy messageis that we residents of Gurei block five really need help, we are reallysuffering; no power, water and school,\u201d he complained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere aresome of us who drink water from the nearby streams due to lack of borehole inthe area,<\/p>\n

\u201cIt gives ushard time to get one borehole that we have now and it is not enough, we have avery big number in this area\u201d he emphasized. He revealedthat the top government officials used to pass via the area, but failed torecognize the suffering of the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvenpresident himself usually pass near us here and he is not aware that we arereally suffering, that we have no school, we have no water among other services,\u201dhe complained.<\/p>\n

He called onthe government to construct roads in order to allow movement without difficultyduring rainy season. \u201cThe roads here are very poor, we are between two streams and we have no bridge, this makes it very hard to cross to other areas during rainy season,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is veryhard for our children to go to school, when there is rain. the streams overflowwith water and hard for our children to cross to the other side where theyschool is based,<\/p>\n

I called onthe government to address our issues, bring for us clean water, build for usthe bridge and school for our children\u201d he stressed. \u201cIam veryhappy with the organization that have just trained the women on how to managetheir businesses and their families\u201d he mentioned.<\/p>\n

MeanwhileLona Lemi,one of the residents emphasized on the need for government toconstruct and open affordable school in the area. \u201cWe needgovernment to open for us school that can be affordable for us to enroll our children,\u201dshe decried.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis willhelp us to take our children to the school with the little money that we have,\u201dLona said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are sufferingpaying huge fees to private schools, my children were sent out from class lastmonth due school fees\u201d Lona complained.<\/p>\n

\u201cI borroweda lot of money to pay their school fees and up to now I am still paying back,\u201dshe added.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen thereis rain, we really suffer to cross the stream,it is very hard, therefore Icalled on the government to construct for us the bridge and a primary schoolfor our children\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n
