Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A tragic accident involving Africa Resources Company (ARC) truck and a passenger business vehicle travelling from Juba to the Bahr el Ghazal region has resulted in the loss of three lives and left ten others injured in Lakes State.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred in Awerial County on Wednesday, leaving the community in shock and mourning.<\/p>\n

Major Elijah Mabor Makuac, the police spokesperson in Lakes State, told Radio Tamazuj that the ARC truck driver has been apprehended by traffic police, and a thorough investigation into the cause of the accident is currently underway. He stated, \u201cThe investigation is ongoing at the crime scene where the accident took place.\u201d<\/p>\n

The tragedy claimed the lives of three passengers, including the driver of the business vehicle, who died instantly upon impact. Additionally, ten passengers suffered serious injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at the Primary Health Care Center (PHCC) in Mingkaman of Awerial County.<\/p>\n

As described by Major Makuac, \u201cThere was a business vehicle which collided with the ARC truck, leading to the death of three passengers of the business vehicle, and ten others sustained injuries. They were rushed to Gulyar PHCC for medical care. One of the vehicle drivers was arrested simply because the other driver of the second vehicle has died.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peter Makol, a traffic police officer, also confirmed the deadly car accident, highlighting that the investigation into the cause of the collision is ongoing in Awerial County.<\/p>\n

The tragic accident has caused immense grief and distress in the region, with authorities and community members coming together to support the injured and the families of those who lost their lives.<\/p>\n

In response to the incident, ARC Construction Company of Bahr El Ghazal Road issued a statement expressing their deep sorrow for the loss of lives and injuries caused by the accident. They assured full cooperation with the authorities in the ongoing investigation.<\/p>\n

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and cautious driving. As the investigation continues, authorities are urging all drivers to exercise vigilance and abide by traffic regulations to prevent such devastating accidents in the future.<\/p>\n
