Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The revitalised transitional government of national unity (R-TGoNU) is planning to remove all the illegal checkpoints across the country.<\/p>\n The acting minister for foreign affairs and international cooperation, Deng Dau Deng, told the press yesterday that the decision to remove illegal checkpoints would fast-track the delivery of services to the grassroots.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are at a very lengthy discussion with both the UN and how to improve the movement of the services across South Sudan, including removing all the illegal checkpoints,\u201d Deng told the press at the Pyramid hotel yesterday.<\/p>\n The acting minister cited the decision as one of the pieces of evidence that the country was committed to the completion of the outstanding tasks in the revitalised agreement on the resolution of the conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS).<\/p>\n \u201cI just want to say we are, as a government, are working to implement all the remaining provision, including the constitution-making process, including the issues of reconstitution of the election commission.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are working as a government to ensure that within the remaining 16 months we are working as a government to ensure that all the remaining provisions are implemented.\u201d<\/p>\n He added that the peace agreement had been holding and not comparable with the time it was in 2013, 2014, 2016 and even immediately after the peace agreement was signed on September 12, 2018.<\/p>\n \u201cThe environment of 2018 and the environment today are totally different.
