Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span> <\/b> The spokesman of South Sudan\u2019s opposition National Democratic Movement (NDM) Mahmoud Akot has resigned, accusing the group\u2019s leadership of double standards.<\/p>\n

In a resignation letter addressed to Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin, the chairman of the group, Akot said that he had conclude that the movement\u2019s priorities and structures were not aligned, and that the leadership had been inconsistent in its application of its principles.<\/p>\n

\u201cI see that the Movement\u2019s priorities and structures are not going well, due to contradictions and double standards that have appeared in your leadership recently in many situations related to the public interest in the country,\u201d Akot wrote.<\/p>\n

He also accused the leadership of engaging in \u201cbad practices\u201d towards some members, such as \u201cconspiracy, negligence and marginalization\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe nature of your Leadership in the Movement is the worst, due to the bad practices towards some members, such as conspiracy, negligence and marginalization of some members, just for superficial considerations,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Akot\u2019s resignation is a blow to the NDM, and the party has not yet responded to the accusations.<\/p>\n
