Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The opposition-nominated deputy chairperson of Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) in Lakes State Adhum Achol Geu has been suspended from his position by Governor Rin Tueny Mabor.<\/p>\n

In a gubernatorial decree readout on local radio Rumbek FM, Tueny said the suspension is effective from August 23, but did not give reasons as to why he suspended the official, a senior member of the main armed opposition SPLM-IO led by First Vice President Riek Machar.<\/p>\n

When contacted by Sudans Post, Geu confirmed his suspension, but said he learnt about it on the local radio and the governor, a member of the ruling SPLM under President Salva Kiir Mayardit, did not give written reasons as to why he suspended the RRC deputy head.<\/p>\n

\u201cI yesterday learned on our local radio here, Rumbek FM, [about] the suspension in which I did not know about what the charges are leveled against me, and the procedures made for my suspension,\u201d he told Sudans Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know anything to do with the reasons why the Governor of Lakes State suspended me, and I intend to know any of the issues that he may raise, in which I may have done.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe did not give reasons for my suspension, whereby I will know exactly what was the reason of him suspending me from the position,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
