Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>About 1,500 delegates have been invited for the South Sudan\u2019s first-ever economic scheduled for next month.<\/p>\n Speaking to The City Review yesterday, the Undersecretary for Planning in the Ministry of Finance, Benjamin Koyongwa, said partners from the regional countries have been invited to play a crucial policy role in shaping the country\u2019s economic future.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are expecting 1,500 participants from within and regional countries to attend the important conference but of course, other countries have declined because they also have certain commitments in their country,\u201d Koyongwa said.<\/p>\n The conference intends to seek views of the economic sectors and the stakeholders on the main concerns and challenges of the economic situation in South Sudan.<\/p>\n \u201cOur eople should not expect that the prices in the market are going to come down and exchange rate of dollars to come down but it will eventually come down at some points when the recommendation of the conference are implemented,\u201d he clarified.<\/p>\n Also, all the governors of the states and chief administrators as well as the national ministers are among the delegates invited for the conference.<\/p>\n The conference comes nearly five months after President Salva Kiir directed the ministry of finance and planning to organize an economic conference.<\/p>\n The minister of finance, Bak Barnaba, had said despite several pledges from the partners, the ministry was ready to sponsor about 80 per cent of the conference to ensure it is successful.<\/p>\n \u201cThe budget is around $1 million, and we are financing it with our partners.
