Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The government\u2019s spokesperson and Minister of Information, Michael Makuei, said the country needs a reliable power source rather than generators to be able to pursue economic development.<\/p>\n

Addressing the delegates at the National Economic Conference at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Juba, Makuei said a reliable power source would reduce the cost of communication and smooth operations in other sectors.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not sufficient for us to manage institutions through generators, and that is why the communication sector is costly because we are using generators,\u201d Makuei said.<\/p>\n

According to him, without a proper and reliable source of power, the country\u2019s economy will continue to confront power issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout a reliable source of power there will be no economic growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
