Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Central Equatoria State governor on Monday donated a new car to the state\u2019s women’s union to help them facilitate their activities.<\/p>\n

The donation comes following Governor Emmanuel Adil\u2019s pledge to the women’s union during his state tour.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a ceremony where the car was handed over to the women, Huda Micheal Laila, the Central Equatoria State Minister of Gender, Child, and Social Welfare, said the women in the state are very happy and she lauded the government for donating the vehicle.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe women in Central Equatoria State are very, very happy with the state government. It is the first government that is giving a vehicle to facilitate women\u2019s work in the six counties of the state,\u201d she said. \u201cSo, we women appreciate the government, Governor Adil, and his leadership. We are very happy!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a vehicle given to us by the governor to facilitate the work of the women so please take care of it, mobilize and empower women in the state,\u201d Laila added.<\/p>\n

For her part, Cecilia Luka, the deputy chairperson of the Central Equatoria Women\u2019s Union, appreciated the governor and said that the vehicle will help them to mobilize easily since elections will be held next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet God be with the governor so that he can continue helping the women. Governor Adil is the first governor in Central Equatoria State to empower the women,\u201d she said. \u201cYou have given the women a car today so that we can do mobilization for the elections. We will be able to help women across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n
