Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A teacher at Gudele East One primary school is appealing to the Ministry of Housing and Physical Infrastructure in Central Equatoria State to provide plots for teachers as South Sudan observes World Teachers\u2019 Day.<\/p>\n

World Teachers\u2019 Day is a global event held annually on October 5th to honour and appreciate teachers for their invaluable contributions.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Eye Radio on World Teachers\u2019 Day, the deputy headmaster of Gudele East One Pre and Primary School, says allocating lands to teachers would serve as a motivating factor for them to remain in the teaching profession.<\/p>\n

The teachers have appealed to the Ministry of Housing, requesting that teachers be considered when allocating plots.<\/p>\n

Mary Wasuk says, that by allocating plots of land for teachers, the government would be demonstrating its recognition and support for the teaching profession.<\/p>\n

She says this would not only provide teachers with a sense of stability but also encourage them to continue their important work in educating the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cTeachers have no plots, like me talking to you now I am renting and you don\u2019t where I am getting this, teachers have no plots this is another big influence, and these days you rent a house in dollars,\u201d said Mary.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf there\u2019s a chance in our ministry of housing, please motivate teachers by giving them plots of land,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet the government allocate plots for the remaining teachers who are now in the ground practically because the case for other activities we use we know how to run them now.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mary is urging the Ministry of Housing to consider the needs of teachers in their land demarcation efforts.<\/p>\n

She says that once allocated, it would acknowledge teachers\u2019 crucial role in society and promote a conducive environment for their professional growth and development.<\/p>\n
