Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The interim chairperson of the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC), Maj. Gen rtd Charles Tai Gituai, lamented that the government was yet to progress on the unification of forces.<\/p>\n \u201cDespite food and other supplies having been procured and distributed to the training centres as well as the deployment of national assessment teams, there is no new progress,\u201d he stated during the plenary on Thursday.<\/p>\n He called for progress in the deployment of forces in phase one and the commencement of phase which involves the training of the second batch of the unified forces.<\/p>\n The RJMEC boss added that Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration process has not been progressed due to the lack of funding<\/p>\n \u201cThe strategic Defense and security Review Board has not yet finalized the policy documents needed for to guide the transformation of the security sector.\u201d<\/p>\n He further lamented the ceasefire violations with the skirmishes between the SSPDF and armed youth in Pochalla in Pibor Administrative Area being point of reference.<\/p>\n Responding to these concerns, the Minister of Cabinet Afairs, Dr Elia Lomuro, said \u201cthe second acclaim of the prisons, wildlife, fire Bridget and national security have been agreed.\u201d<\/p>\n He added: \u201cthere are outstanding issues but we believe they are in progress and should be completed this month.\u201d<\/p>\n The minister confirmed that food and other military requirements for phase two of the necessary unified forces have been secured and delivered to the training centres.<\/p>\n \u201cTroops are reporting to their respective centres and the agencies are complying deployment list in order to complete the deployment process,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n In May this year, the Council of Ministers approved SSP 3.6 billion to facilitate the deployment of the first batch of the necessary unified forces.<\/p>\n \u201cThe security arrangement is divided into two: phase one and phase two.
