Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>President Salva Kiir on Friday removed the head of the Presidential Medical Unit Dr. Andrew Akon Akec and appointed a former undersecretary in the Ministry of Health as his replacement.<\/p>\n

In a republican decree read on the state-own TV SSBC, Kiir relieved Dr Akon from the department based at the state House, J1.<\/p>\n

In a similar republican decree, the president appointed Dr. Mayen Machut Achiek to serves in the position.<\/p>\n

Dr. Achiek is the former Undersecretary in the national Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n

Kiir then appointed the former head of the presidential medical unit as Technical Advisor to the health ministry.<\/p>\n

The Presidential Medical Unit is responsible for the medical needs of the Office of the President staff. The unit also provides medical care to the president.<\/p>\n
