Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A group of 112 youths from different payams of Jur River County in Western Bahr el Ghazal State officially became members of the Federal Democratic Party (FDP) led by High Education Minister Gabriel Changson Chang in Wau on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Expressing his enthusiasm at the party\u2019s headquarters in Wau, Andrea Uliny Lual, a youth leader, said they joined the FDP because the party has robust plans to improve the country\u2019s ailing economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am very pleased to join the FDP for several reasons. It is the only party capable of bringing about positive changes in South Sudan, both economically and politically,\u201d he declared. \u201cIt is the pathway for the youth to construct their future as responsible citizens of South Sudan. It is also the sole means of uniting the youth of our country and providing them with the necessary guidance on self-leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n

Uliny revealed that a total of 112 individuals, including students, officially joined the FDP.<\/p>\n

For his part, Nouel Osman Teraf, the party\u2019s secretary for internal information, extended a warm welcome to the new members and reassured them of the tested leadership credentials of Minister Changson who is an eminent economist.<\/p>\n

.\u201cAt this juncture, I am very happy to receive our new members who are concerned about national issues. We are so happy today to receive our brothers and sisters from Jur River County who have joined us in the party,\u201d he said. \u201cThe message to the youth in the Republic of South Sudan at large is that we are the Federal Democratic Party and our doors are open to all members who want to join at the state level.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to assure the people of South Sudan that the FDP is actively registering its members to participate in the upcoming elections,\u201d Osman added.<\/p>\n

The party official reported that, to date, the Western Bahr el Ghazal State has successfully registered nearly seven hundred members since March.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur total number reported in March was 567 members but with the addition of 112 today, our total is increasing and we are pleased with this growth,\u201d Osman declared.<\/p>\n
