Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Six pupils, including 2 females, were on Sunday airlifted from the Greater Pibor Administrative Area\u2019s (GPAA) Pochalla County to Juba where they are currently writing the Certificate of Primary Education (SSCPE) Examinations.<\/p>\n

69,573 pupils have been registered to write the SSCPE exams across the country, with 116 in GPAA.<\/p>\n

Acting Pochalla County Commissioner Owety Olang told Radio Tamazuj on Monday that the recent violence in his county displaced many residents, including more than 19 candidates who were meant to write the CPE exams.<\/p>\n

\u201cThree days ago we managed to bring back 11 of our pupils from Ethiopia to Pochalla On Sunday, a military helicopter which was bringing food for soldiers took six of them to Juba where they will seat their exams,\u201d he explained. \u201cUnfortunately, their colleagues will miss the exams.\u201d<\/p>\n

For his part, Nyabok Ngali, the GPAA education ministry director-general, said exams are going well in the rest of Greater Pibor despite challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur pupils were only missing out on the national exercise. Thankfully, this Monday morning, we received examination papers,\u201d he revealed. Now, 97 pupils, including 13 female candidates, are writing their exams in Pibor.\u201d<\/p>\n
