Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>El Daein Hospital in Sudan\u2019s East Darfur State has resumed its medical services after a two-day interruption. Normal operations resumed on Wednesday following a pause caused by the conflict between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces over control of the city.<\/p>\n

The disruption led to a halt in patient visits on the first day of the conflict due to rumours circulating among the El-Daein community. There were concerns that military aircraft might target El-Daein Hospital if wounded individuals from the Rapid Support Forces sought treatment there.<\/p>\n

Dr. Mohamed Moala, the Director General of El Daein Hospital, told Radio Tamazuj on Friday that the hospital has been functioning normally since Wednesday. He explained that during the initial days of the conflict, the hospital underwent an unplanned evacuation, with the wounded being redirected to peripheral treatment centers.<\/p>\n

Dr. Moala reassured the public that all hospital departments are now fully operational, urging everyone to be confident in the hospital\u2019s effective functioning.<\/p>\n

Ealier this week, the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) declared the successful takeover of command at the 20th Infantry Division of the Sudanese Army in East Darfur State, marking the fourth military base in the Darfur region now under the control of paramilitary forces.<\/p>\n

Sudan has plunged into chaos since fighting erupted in mid-April between the country’s two rival top generals. There is an increasing concern for those trapped and displaced by the war, and aid workers and civilians have said there’s a dire lack of essential services, medical care, food, and water.<\/p>\n
