Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The 7th Governors Forum has been adjourned to Tuesday due to President Salva Kiir\u2019s busy schedule.<\/p>\n

Speaking to reporters at the Freedom Hall this morning, Michael Majok, Director General for Decentralization and Intergovernmental Relations in the office of the President said the event will take place on Tuesday and will be officiated by the President.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am just coming from H.E President of the Republic, Gen. Salva Kiir and he said that he is busy today, he has a lot of things to do and as a result, the governors\u2019 forum that was supposed to take place today should be postponed until tomorrow because he will be here personally to open the governors\u2019 forum,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The Governor\u2019s Forum is an annual event organized since 2006 by the Office of the President with support from UNDP and other partners.<\/p>\n

It discusses policies that touch on the humanitarian, peace, and development nexus.<\/p>\n

The Forum is the highest policy platform that brings together policy actors to Juba to deliberate on a wide range of policy issues around governance and democratic principles.<\/p>\n

One of the Forum\u2019s key objectives is to ensure institutions\u2019 functionality for effective and efficient transformation and accountability to the population, especially those living in rural areas.<\/p>\n
