Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A coalition of youth initiatives in the South Darfur State capital Nyala are actively cleaning the town after the heavy fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) which ended with the latter taking control of the town in late October.<\/p>\n

Youth activist Hamid Al-Jadi Wadi told Radio Tamazuj Tuesday that they have been busy cleaning several vital locations in the town, including the popular main market.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow we are working on cleaning the theater at the Martyr Al-Sahaini Square and before that, we cleaned the popular market and the Ministry of Education of the debris of the war,\u201d he explained. \u201cThese works are solely the efforts of the youth without receiving support from any party.\u201d<\/p>\n

Al Jadi however revealed that they asked the state health ministry to provide them with garbage trucks to transport the waste so that it is not burned town to avoid injuries from unexploded ordinance left behind by the warring parties.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn cleaning the popular market, we found mortar and tank shells that did not explode, and in the education ministry, we found three rocket launchers,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n

According to the youth activist, after cleaning the Martyr Al-Sahini Theater, they will move to the state television and radio building and then the Grand Market.<\/p>\n
