Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The National Police Service said it has beefed up security across the country and deployed 3,000 joint security forces to Juba and its surroundings to provide security during the holidays.<\/p>\n

Police Spokesperson Maj. General Daniel Justin said the organized forces were selected from the different police departments.<\/p>\n

This includes Criminal Investigation Department (CID) personnel and members of the joint operation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have gathered forces at the police headquarters, about 3,000 policemen from various police departments, and we have developed a security plan and distributed these forces in some areas in the city to secure Christmas celebrations,\u201d Justin told Eye Radio.<\/p>\n

General Justin called on the public to be part of the security plan by cooperating with security force and reporting criminal activities in the streets.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also ask citizens to assist in the security process by reporting any suspicious movements to the police by using the emergency number 112 reporting to the nearest police station or informing the forces deployed in the streets.\u201d<\/p>\n

General Justin further said the forces will be deployed in the main streets, markets, and entertainment clubs among other places.<\/p>\n
