Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>58 appointed members of the Reconstituted National Constitutional Review Commission tasked to draft the permanent constitution of the Republic of South Sudan were on Wednesday sworn in in Juba.<\/p>\n

The members were sworn in on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

Addressing officials, President Kiir members of the Reconstituted National Constitutional Review Commission to expedite work on drafting the country\u2019s new permanent constitution, ahead of next year\u2019s general elections.<\/p>\n

According to the Presidential Press Unit, \u201cthe Head of State pledged his commitment to providing adequate support to the Commission to achieve a successful constitutional making process to pave way for new political dispensation.<\/p>\n

Speaking upon their oath-taking, the Chairperson of the National Constitutional Review Commission, Dr. Riang Yer Zuor said \u201cThey are ready to guide the entire constitutional-making process.\u201d<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Justice Minister, Ruben Madol Arol reportedly said, the foundation for any nation must be based on constitutionalism, and that public participation is crucial to the process.<\/p>\n
