Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Central Equatoria State Ministry of Education has cautioned both private and public schools against registering students for the upcoming academic year before the release of the official academic calendar and results for both primary and secondary examination certificates.<\/p>\n

During a press conference on Friday at the State Ministry in Juba, Cirisio Zakaria Lado, Central Equatoria State Minister for Education, accused some schools of operating independently of the education ministry.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are advising parents not to enrol children in schools before the announcement of results. Currently, we are in the process of marking the Primary Eight examination results and senior four exams,\u201d Zakaria stated.<\/p>\n

He urged the school management committee, Parents Teachers Association (PTA), and school supervisors at the State, County, and Payam levels to ensure that no school disregards the directive. Zakaria emphasized the formation of a committee to monitor and address the issue.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will be a committee formed to follow up on the directive and check those who are not respecting the order because children and parents should know the results of the exams they have attained. At times, a child might fail, and registering a child who has failed in another class is not appropriate,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

He advised the concerned authorities to refrain from the exercise, stating that the state ministry of education will adhere to the previous year\u2019s school calendar until further changes are made by the national ministry of general education and instruction.<\/p>\n

The minister highlighted that they are awaiting the release of the calendar for the new academic year by the national ministry of general education and instruction so that schools can resume their activities.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that violators of the new directives will face consequences according to the recommendations of the committee formed to monitor the implementation of the order.<\/p>\n
