Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The National Police Service said on Wednesday it will administer capacity building training to about 1,000 officers in Lakes State starting in February 2024.<\/p>\n

Assistant Inspector General of Police for Training, Lieutenant General James Pieu Jalal said the workshop is part of the ministry\u2019s plan to enhance the police skills.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe visited the states of Greater Bahr el Ghazal, starting with Lakes State. The aim of the visit is to conduct recovery training for the police forces. We will first train a thousand police officers for a period of 3 months and then return,\u201d General Pieu said.<\/p>\n

The deputy IGP made the remarks after a delegation of the Inspector General of Police, Gen. Atem Marol Biar visited the Bhar el Gazal region as part of his three-month action plan.<\/p>\n

General Marol, who was appointed two months ago, has also unveiled his interim plans for security in the country, ahead of the December 2024 elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was appointed, I made a plan for 21 days, another for 3 months, another for 6 months, and a plan for a year,\u201d Marol said, in a short clip posted by state-owned television SSBC.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to the plan that I put together, it was the youth gangs in the streets, and then after that, in the three-month period, it was to visit the states. For this reason, today we started from Juba, for Awerial and Urol.\u201d<\/p>\n
