Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>At least three South Sudanese activists affiliated with the Junubin Chronicles were apprehended on Thursday afternoon by the South Sudan National Security Service (NSS).<\/p>\n

They were reportedly involved in seeking information about their detained colleague, Biar Ajak Marol, who went missing last year after being arrested by the NSS.<\/p>\n

Bill Kuor Nyiel and Bafara Santelo, both members of the Junubin Chronicles, along with Delighty Keji, another activist, were taken into custody at 3:00 PM following a summons to the Tiger Battalion in al-Qiada.<\/p>\n

According to a source within the Junubin Chronicles, the three activists responded to separate calls by security personnel to verify the arrest of an individual.<\/p>\n

However, upon arrival, they were themselves detained and transferred to the NSS headquarters in Jebel.<\/p>\n

Their arrest is purportedly linked to their advocacy efforts urging the government to reveal the whereabouts of Biar.<\/p>\n

Biar, the Executive Director of Junubin Chronicles, disappeared under unclear circumstances on October 4, 2023, in Juba.<\/p>\n

His car was discovered parked near the recently constructed Freedom Bridge along the River Nile.<\/p>\n
