Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The former commissioner of Bor County of Jonglei State, Yuot Alier Hok, died on Wednesday in Juba due to a brain tumor, a relative has confirmed.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Sudans Post on Wednesday, John Mayol Nhial, a relative of the late former commissioner confirmed the news and said he passed on at a local hospital in Juba.<\/p>\n

He said the late was suffering from a brain tumor that required surgery, a procedure initially planned to take place in Canada.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo our Bor Community members, relatives, in-laws, comrades, colleagues, and friends of Hon. Yuot Alier Hok, I know many of you have received the heartbreaking news about our beloved brother, either through direct communication or social media,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI must convey this firsthand information that we have lost our dear brother and son of Gol Community yesterday afternoon in Juba (03\/01\/2024),\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis passing was due to a brain tumor, which had been slated for surgery in Canada, as advised by doctors at Nile Kings Specialist Hospital. His scheduled surgery was set for January 15th, 2024,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The late Yuot\u2019s body currently rests at the funeral home along Bilpam road, with plans underway for his burial on January 5th, as shared by Nhial.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe funeral arrangements are being organized, and we will communicate the details once they are finalized. Tentatively, the burial is scheduled for January 5th, 2024 (Friday), and the location will be announced today as we liaise with his family back home,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Yuot, who served as Bor County commissioner and was relieved of his duties in January 2023, was 43.<\/p>\n

A brain tumor is an abnormal growth of cells in or near the brain, potentially affecting areas such as nerves, the pituitary gland, the pineal gland, and the brain\u2019s surface membranes.<\/p>\n
