Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The East Darfur State government has dispatched a delegation comprising representatives from the Ministry of Finance, the Chamber of Commerce, and Customs to South Sudan\u2019s Northern Bahr el Ghazal State.<\/p>\n

The purpose of the mission is to coordinate and strengthen historical relations between the border tribes in the two countries while promoting trade exchange.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Mohammed Bakhit, a member of the East Darfur government delegation, told Radio Tamazuj on Sunday that they reached the Ruqbiyat area on Saturday, en route to North Bahr el Ghazal State.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite the challenging circumstances in Sudan, East Darfur State remains committed to engaging with the government of South Sudan\u2019s Northern Bahr el Ghazal,\u201d Bakhit emphasized.<\/p>\n

Mustafa Mohammed Bakhit, a member of the delegation, explained that the Sudan Army Intelligence\u2019s siege on East Darfur, due to being outside their control, has prompted the search for new trade outlets to ensure the uninterrupted flow of goods.<\/p>\n

He stated, \u201cIn return, ensuring the flow of goods that the people of South Sudan need from the state of East Darfur.\u201d Darfur states rely on South Sudan for fuel, flour, and sugar, while merchants transport corn and peanut goods to South Sudan.<\/p>\n
