Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Ter Manyang Gatwech executive director of CPA (photo; courtesy)<\/b><\/p>\n The Executive Director of the Centre for Peace and Advocacy (CPA), Ter Manyang, has called on the government to send forces to Ayod County to contain the looming security crisis.<\/p>\n Manyang said they had received a report of tension between individual generals and prophet Makuach in Ayod County, which could lead to serious confrontation.<\/p>\n \u201cI am deeply concerned about the provocative movement between individual generals and Prophet Makuach in Ayod County, Jonglei State, which can lead to war at any time,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He said some generals in Ayod County are reported to have been shooting their heavy guns in the air, a practice that he said contravenes the peace agreement, which warns against offensive, provocative and hostile propaganda.<\/p>\n \u201cCPA wants those [generals] to understand their roles and responsibilities according to International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law,\u201d Manyang said.<\/p>\n He claimed that one of the commanders in the South Sudan People\u2019s Defence Forces did not want the spiritual leader, Prophet Makuath, to step into Ayod town.<\/p>\n \u201cCPA reminds the general and his forces to uphold the principles within the Peace Agreement and the only person in charge of security is Chuol Jiek Bol (county commissioner).\u201d<\/p>\n He said, \u201cThose generals trying to make a provocation move\u2014it\u2019s not permitted within R-ARCSS; those individuals will be held accountable if anything happens in Ayod town.\u201d<\/p>\n However, Jonglei State Minister of Information, Elizabeth Nyadak, said the spiritual leader was allowed to pass to his residence last week without any problem.<\/p>\n \u201cMakuath (spiritual leader) wanted to pass to Ayod County and then Ayod authority said that he could not use the road but was later allowed to pass to wherever he wanted to go.\u201d<\/p>\n She confirmed that the situation is now getting back to normal<\/p>\n \u201cThe situation is now getting back to normal.
