Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The South Sudan Bar Association Elections Committee released the official schedule for the forthcoming presidential election.<\/p>\n A week ago, the Bar swore in the committee in preparation and conducted elections for the association\u2019s executive.<\/p>\n The committee\u2019s work was to list all of the procedures to be followed throughout the election period and publicly disclose the identities of its members.<\/p>\n The deadline for nominations from candidates seeking to be the Bar Association\u2019s president was declared on Monday by the Chairman of the Elections Commission, James Lado.<\/p>\n He gave a summary of the schedule, which will take place over the course of 42 days, beginning on January 16 with the publication of the voter roll and ending on February 26.<\/p>\n The listings of licenced attorneys whose licences have been renewed will be published during this time.<\/p>\n Lado declared, \u201cThe candidature process will include the names of all lawyers licenced as of the end of the previous year, 2023.\u201d<\/p>\n He shared the list and urged lawyers at both the capital and state levels to visit the courts during official working hours, as the schedule will be unveiled in the courts of Juba.<\/p>\n The county court is going to be first in line, then the Kator Court, Mobile Court, Traffic Court, and finally the Gudele Court on the site. On bulletin boards, the schedule will be clearly visible.<\/p>\n The Election Commission has started working on its assigned responsibilities, Lado stressed. There will be a three-day window for appeals after the lists are published.<\/p>\n Decisions regarding those appeals will be taken after the appeals period.
