Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Schools have been warned against admission of Senior One students before the release of the Certificate of Primary Education Examination results.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, the National Ministry of General Education and Instruction said no secondary school should admit students before their examination results are announced.<\/p>\n

Addressing reporters at the Ministry\u2019s headquarters in Juba, Martin Tako Moyi, Deputy Minister of General Education said, \u201cI would like to inform these schools and the members of the public that such admissions are illegal. The results of Primary School Education Certificate Examinations are not yet out.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said promotion from class to class in South Sudan’s education system should be based on the performance of the students in the exams.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn what grounds or basis are these schools admitting the children to senior one?\u201d Tako asked.<\/p>\n

He however assured stakeholders in the sector that the marking of examination papers was progressing well and results would be released very soon.<\/p>\n

\u201cI therefore urge all the parents and schools that they should not rush to enroll students prior to the release of the primary results. Any school that violates this procedure will be penalized,\u201d Tako said.<\/p>\n

Tako further said financial challenges caused the over two week delays witnessed in collecting examination papers from the exam centers.<\/p>\n

However, he praised the National Examination Council for ensuring the exams were successfully done before proceeding to the marking phase.<\/p>\n
