Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of Lakes State, Rin Tueny Mabor, rubbished the notion that he lacks competition and would easily get the SPLM ticket to retain his seat in the upcoming election.<\/p>\n Speaking in Rumbek, where he hosted a delegation of the SPLM National Secretariat, led by Kuol Atem Bol-the Secretary for Caucus Affairs-Mabor said he was not guaranteed the party\u2019s ticket for the gubernatorial seat, although he was ready to face the challengers in the party\u2019s primaries.<\/p>\n \u201cThere are people who say Rin Tueny is the flag bearer of the Lakes State governorship; that thing is still far away but when SPLM nominates me as the candidate, then I will come and compete here in primaries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He added, \u201c If there is a person who wants to contest for governorship, we are coming here for primaries and it is real.\u201d<\/p>\n Mabor said the party would not consider an electoral college, which he described as having its own shortcomings, but would organise the political party primaries to select the candidates.<\/p>\n According to Mabor, the country has the capability of holding elections because there is relative peace across various corners.<\/p>\n He told off political parties that are against the idea of folding the elections, saying that they are free to make a choice on their own.<\/p>\n Bol praised the party leaders in Lakes State, saying they had done tremendous work to ensure that the party gained a following in the state.<\/p>\n we have found out during these two days that Lakes State comes first in terms of support for the SPLM,\u201d he said. He lauded Mabor for maintaining peace and stability in the state and ensuring that as SPLM chairperson, there is harmony among the party members under his leadership.<\/p>\n According to Bol, the ongoing SPLM training exercise will target the youth, who will be tasked with disseminating the information to the grassroots so that the party gets more votes in the coming election.<\/p>\n \u201d There will be no big person that will train you. It will be youth that will train you and then automatically you will be going down to the counties to train youth in the counties, payams and bomas,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cWe will secure our youth in Lakes State by the end of this training; they will be able to communicate well and they will educate our citizens very well,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n Mabor said the track record of the ruling party speaks for itself. But the voters have another chance of choosing the leaders who will serve them better in the years after the election.<\/p>\n \u201d When we go back from 2005 up to today, we have delivered but our people need more and who will do that delivery of services?
