Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>More than 30 primary school teachers and football coaches across the country are undergoing theoretical and practical workshops in Juba to develop their football skills and abilities.<\/p>\n

The 3-day workshop is facilitated by South Sudan Football Association in collaboration with FIFA, the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.<\/p>\n

The 32 teachers and football coaches were brought from the 10 states and 3 administrative areas as well coaches from SSFA.<\/p>\n

The workshop for primary school teachers and coaches is part of FIFA initiative to include South Sudan in the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) football development project.<\/p>\n

Similar trainings are also taking place in the CECAFA region, particularly in Djibouti, Rwanda, Tanzania and Burundi.<\/p>\n

Charles Udwar, the Vice President of South Sudan Football Association, pledged to engage all football academies in South Sudan to embrace the ethics of forgiveness, love, and commitment.<\/p>\n

He said the programme will also contribute to addressing the phenomenon of street children and curb undesirable practices associated with schools and homes.<\/p>\n

Kuyok Abol Kuyok, Undersecretary of the Ministry of General Education and Instruction underscored the importance of sports within the South Sudanese education system.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening of the workshop, he urged parents to encourage their children to discover and nurture their talents in various areas.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want you the people who have football background. Sport is essential and has become part of the education system in many countries because it has a social and economic benefit for the individual and society.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we need to do is to allow these children to discover their talent FIFA is trying to allow us to promote football in our schools this programme will revive football in our school.\u201d<\/p>\n
