Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A group of armed criminals from South Sudan\u2019s Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) on Friday last week launched an attack against a cattle camp in Duk County of Jonglei state.<\/p>\n

Local authorities said the attack, unprovoked, resulted in the raiding of at least fifty-one (51) head of cattle. Duk County Commissioner John Chatiem said local youth are pursuing the criminals in an attempt to return back the cattle.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur youth have been pursuing the raiders since Friday. So, we are appealing to our Pibor counterparts to deploy security forces to their boundaries with us so that they will be able to identify the raiders and recover those cows to avoid any confrontation,\u201d John Chatim, the Duk County commissioner said, according to Radio Tamazuj.<\/p>\n

For his part, John Amor, the Pibor County commissioner, said he is not aware of the incident. \u201cThere is no communication network in those areas bordering Jonglei State so I am not aware of what had happened there,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
