Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>President Salva Kiir says his administration is trying to promote young people to positions in the government to make the real change that the country aspires for.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are trying to promote the young people that will make the real change that we are aspiring for,\u201d Kiir remarked during the swearing-in ceremony of Dr. Augustino Ting Mayai as the new Chairperson of the South Sudan National Bureau of Statistics Thursday.<\/p>\n

Agustino Ting Mayai was appointed on 26 January 2024 in a presidential decree read on the state-own TV, SSBC.<\/p>\n

The Head of State says the government can\u2019t bring all young people all at once to fill the positions in the government.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot bring young people at one time to take positions in the government. You come and be known by the authorities dealing with you and that will be your credit.<\/p>\n

According to Kiir, they are creating a government that never existed from the creation of the country and are determined to make one that is accepted by the people.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere has been no government in South Sudan since the creation. We are creating what is called government and we are determined to make it, defended by the people and to be accepted by the people,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In his part, Dr Ting appreciated the President for the opportunity and trust bestowed on him to lead one of the most crucial national institutions while underscoring the importance of statistics for socioeconomic development in the country.<\/p>\n
