Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The chairperson of the People\u2019s Progressive Party (PPP), Gabriel Kuot Akook is calling on the Minister of Finance and Planning Dr. Bak Barnaba Chol to apologize to the wounded heroes.<\/p>\n

Kuot said it was disrespectful for Dr. Bak to refer to the wounded heroes as \u201cself-proclaimed heroes.\u201d<\/p>\n

In a statement released by the minister about the incident that occurred on the ministry\u2019s premises, the minister said the issue involved a group of \u201cSelf-proclaimed wounded heroes,\u201d who forced their way into the ministry and demanded their medical benefits.<\/p>\n

Kuot lamented that by referring to the wounded heroes as \u201cself-proclaimed wounded heroes\u201d was disrespectful of their sacrifices.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe urge the minister of finance and planning to retract the offensive statement and issue a formal apology to the wounded heroes and heroines, their families, and the people of South Sudan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also call on the ministry to take immediate steps to address the concerns of these individuals and ensure that they receive the care and support they deserve,\u201d Kuot appealed.<\/p>\n

According to Kuot, it is inappropriate for the government to fight with those who have sacrificed their blood for the country\u2019s independence and to also be described as \u2018self-proclaimed wounded heroes.\u201d<\/p>\n

The senior politician further said that his party recognizes the sacrifices made by wounded heroes and that the government must offer proper care and support.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is the government\u2019s responsibility to respect them rather than belittle them.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government must honor and respect the sacrifices made by these individuals, not to belittle them. It is the duty of the government,\u201d Kuot added.<\/p>\n
