Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil, issued a gubernatorial order on Monday, banning the illegal demarcation, surveys, and the allotment of lands within Juba.<\/p>\n

This comes after the commissioner of Juba County, Joseph Wani, briefed the governor on the issues affecting Juba County.<\/p>\n

\u201cAny individual or group of people involved in the aforementioned activities will face the full force of law, and all equipment found in use during these cited activities shall be confiscated with immediate effect,\u201d the order read in part.<\/p>\n

Also, the order stated that any acquired illegitimate documents of plots would be considered invalid.<\/p>\n

The order was copied to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, who also serves as the Commissioner of Police in CES, minister of housing, lands, and public utilities, commissioner of Juba County, mayor of Juba City Council, security agencies, and the legal administration to swiftly implement the gubernatorial order from the effect of the announcement.<\/p>\n

Governor Adil made it clear last week that the state government would cancel the issuing of a token for the allocation of land to address the land-grabbing issues in the city.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese days, if you want to apply for land from the authorities, there is no more token; you have to go and fill out a form, and the form has a lot of details; for instance, if you are given land, you must develop it within one year,\u201d Adil stated.<\/p>\n

There have been increasing cases of land grabbing in Central Equatoria State, particularly in Bilinyang Boma in Mangalla Payam, Luri Boma Kworijik village in Lado Payam of Juba County.<\/p>\n
