Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The government has disclosed that 8,100 households in Juba will be connected with clean-running water by June this year as the African Development Bank is rehabilitating the old water pipelines and taps in parts of the city.<\/p>\n

The facility with a capacity of 7,200 cubic meters is expected to be completed in June, according to Yar Paul Kuol, the Managing Director of the South Sudan Urban Water Corporation.<\/p>\n

She says the water system supplies tap water to households in Juba town, Malakia, Kator, Hai Thoura, Juba Na Bari, and Munuki.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfrican Development Bank is now rehabilitating the old facility and the network and the distribution. So, this one they were just constructed by the Africa Development Bank fund,\u201d said Yar.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can see on the roadside there is construction of pipes happening so this water is going to go to those pipes and serve the household,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is going to serve Juba here around Juba town and it is going to serve Malakia, Kator, Hai Thoura, Tompingy and Munuki.\u201d<\/p>\n

Yar said that once completed, 8, 100 households will be connected through water pipelines while the institution pumps tap water within the localities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current project which is funded by Africa Development Bank is going to connect 8,100 customers which is going to exist what we have we are going into Zone it,\u201d Yar said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are going to say Munuki you are getting water only tomorrow, today we are giving Juba here, we are giving Juba Na Bari, we are giving Juba town, tomorrow we are giving Kator so we will have three zones a day by day because the water is not enough,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
