Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has appointed Jane Charles as one of the assistant referees for the upcoming All African Games in Ghana 2024, national fooball body said.<\/p>\n

Jane Charles, an international referee from South Sudan, earned her FIFA badge in 2021 and has since showcased outstanding performances in national and regional competitions, according to SSFA.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis appointment marks a significant milestone for Charles, as she will be the first female referee from South Sudan to officiate in one of the biggest continental competitions,\u201d reads the statement.<\/p>\n

Jane has become the second South Sudanese referee in the tournament after compatriot Malong Ring, who represented his country in the previous All African Games in Morocco 2019.<\/p>\n

According to SSFA, CAF\u2019s decision to include Jane Charles underscores the organization\u2019s commitment to promoting gender equality and diversity in African football officiating.<\/p>\n
