Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Villagers in the Dobo area, 90 km southwest of El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, have complained about deteriorating security situation.<\/p>\n

Ahmed Mohammed Abdel Majeed, a member of the Dobo Development and Reconstruction Committee, told Radio Tamazuj Thursday that the southern part of the Dobo region is witnessing security challenges.<\/p>\n

He said the instability had further been compounded by lack of basic services such as water, health, and education. Abdel Majeed appealed to aid organizations to urgently intervene and save the situation.<\/p>\n

He explained that Dobo area belongs to Tawila locality and has 30 village councils. The area is divided into western and eastern parts, he explained.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe western regions are mountainous areas where security conditions are stable because they are controlled by the forces of Abdel Wahed Mohammed Nur,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation is different in the eastern regions, represented by Dobo Al-Madrasa, in addition to more than 10 other villages, the security conditions in them are completely deteriorating due to the control of Arab militias, which prevent the citizens of these villages from returning to cultivate their farms. Authorities have also failure to provide development projects in the area,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

In the early months of the war in Sudan, Tawila locality witnessed fierce battles between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, forcing residents to flee their homes.<\/p>\n

In August last year, they returned to their homes after the deployment of a force allied to the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid Nur.<\/p>\n
