Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>JUBA \u2014 South Sudan\u2019s former army chief and leader of South Sudan United Front (SSUF) General Paul Malong Awan has accepted the resignation his former deputy chief of staff for operations, General Agany Deng who resigned last week from his position and asked his troops to cut off ties with him.<\/p>\n

General Agany last week wrote in a statement that he was resigning from being the operations chief of the SSUF\/A without stating why he took that decision.<\/p>\n

\u201cReference to your letter of resignation dated 28th November, 2021, addressed to my office, where you resigned from your position as SSUF\/A Deputy Chief of General Staffs for Operation (D\/CoGs), I do hereby acknowledge to its reception and my acceptance to your resignation,\u201d Malong said in a letter addressed to Agany seen by Sudans Post.<\/p>\n

Malong said he had requested from General Agany to travel to Nairobi after a number of accusations were labeled against him, but then failed to show up.<\/p>\n

\u201cPrior to your resignation, I had requested you to come to Nairobi in the company of D\/CoG for logistics to come and address matters related to charges labelled against you administratively, however you turned down my call and opted to tender in your resignation through social media outlets,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He asked the former opposition commander to hand over all assets that belongs to the opposition groups and leave. \u201cWith this acceptance, I therefore ask you to hand over any property belonging to SSUF\/A and refrain yourself from engaging in any affairs related to SSUF\/A military until the matter is full settled,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn the same note, I asked SSUF\/A divisions and brigades Commanders to cease from receiving communication and orders from former D\/CoGs for operation Maj. Gen. Agany Bak with immediate effect,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
