Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Commissioner of Juba County, Charles Joseph Wani is calling for the arrest of some members of the army involved in land grabbing in Molobor village, Ladu Payam.<\/p>\n This comes after the group of armed land grabbers fought with the community over the land on Wednesday.<\/p>\n In a statement to sent to the media, Wani expressed disappointment over ongoing land grabbing in some areas within Juba County. He claimed the grabbers had involved some insubordinate government officials who were distressing the community of Lado Payam.<\/p>\n Wani called on the concerned authorities to take legal action against individuals participating in the land grabbing.<\/p>\n \u201cWe must never lose sight of the meaning and purpose of the protection of civilian law. It is the difference between life and death, between restraint and anarchy, between losing ourselves in horror and retaining our humanity.\u201d<\/p>\n He urged the central Equatoria state to intensify its conflict prevention efforts, preserve peace, and find political solutions to the ongoing matter.<\/p>\n \u201cWhere insecurity continues, the state must investigate alleged crimes and prosecute perpetrators, and the council must urge security units to intensify the execution of the civil protection commission.\u201d<\/p>\n Wani highlighted the land grabbing in Rajaf Payam, Mangalla Payam, Luri Payam, and Lado Payam of Juba County, but said the state government is working hard to apprehend the culprits.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the Director of Lado Payam, Justin Erasto, confirmed that the land grabbers clashed with the community at night in Lado Payam on Wednesday.<\/p>\n \u201cLand grabbers attacked the people at night, where they burnt down two houses and left communities in danger.\u201d<\/p>\n Early this month, the Governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil, issued a gubernatorial order, banning the illegal demarcation, surveys, and the allotment of lands within Juba.<\/p>\n The order was copied to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, who also serves as the Commissioner of Police in CES, minister of housing, lands, and public utilities, commissioner of Juba County, mayor of Juba City Council, security agencies, and the legal administration to swiftly implement the gubernatorial order from the effect of the announcement.<\/p>\n There have been increasing cases of land grabbing in Central Equatoria State, particularly in Bilinyang Boma in Mangalla Payam and Luri Boma Kworijik village in Lado Payam of Juba County.<\/p>\n Source: The City Review South Sudan<\/b><\/p>\n For More News And Analysis About South-Sudan<\/a> Follow Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Jenifer James Africa-Press – South-Sudan.
