[Photo: courtesy]<\/b><\/p>\n The Deputy Chairperson of the SPLM-IO Youth League in Northern Bahr El Ghazal State, Jok Jok Aleu, resigned, citing a lack of \u201cclear ideological inspiration in the movement.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking to the City Review on Tuesday, Jok claimed the party\u2019s vision and mission have been stripped from its constitution and are no longer followed.<\/p>\n According to Jok, he spent two years evaluating the SPLM-IO\u2019s activities and discovered that the party had deviated from its constitution and ideological inspiration.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter a careful and sober review of events within our political party in the last two years, I have come to the conscientious conclusion that our party, which before now was touted as the beacon of integrity, democracy, and fairness, has dangerously veered off from its constitution, philosophies, and ideological inspirations,\u201d Jok claimed.<\/p>\n He further alleged that the SPLM-IO had \u201cmorphed from a political party into a cult of well-placed members who established a cabal of capons with deadly intentions in mind for the country and its fledgeling democracy.\u201d<\/p>\n He claimed he had not yet decided to join any political party where he could play his card and share his political beliefs but would be glad to rejoin the SPLM-IG.<\/p>\n \u201cI am yet to decide which party I will join, but later on I will declare myself to join SPLM IG very soon. Because this is the party where I was. So, when your party does not fulfil the aim and vision, then you have to step back,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He said he had informed the SPLM IO secretariat\u2019s office in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State about his decision and would soon hand over the party\u2019s assets and responsibilities to the incoming vice chairperson of the SPLM IO Youth League.<\/p>\n The chairperson of SPLM-IO in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, Aweng Abraham, stated that she had received information on the phone but had yet to read the letter to figure out the cause for his resignation.<\/p>\n \u201cI was called recently but I have not met with him; I am not in the office now, so I did not receive a letter.
