Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Turkish Ambassador to South Sudan has urged secondary school students to study hard if they want to be eligible for scholarships from the Turkish government.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Erdem Mutaf made the remarks on Friday, March 8, 2024, at Darling Wisdom Secondary School to celebrate International Women\u2019s Day under the Theme: Invest in women, Accelerate Progress.<\/p>\n

The Turkish diplomat says the embassy opens its scholarship every year in January and February.<\/p>\n

He says that many South Sudanese students attended Turkish Universities and some of them graduated from there.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Mutaf told students that among them are leaders, engineers, architects, medical doctors, nurses, and international experts.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are granting scholarships, if you study hard then you might be eligible for the Turkish Universities, you have to apply for the Turkey Scholarships,\u201d Ambassador Mutaf said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe open scholarships in January and February every year and many of your friends, are now attending these Turkish Universities and some of them graduated,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAmong you many are engineers, architects, medical doctors, nurses, and international experts.\u201d<\/p>\n

For his part, the Director of Darling Wisdom Academy School is calling on any embassy or donors to invest in the school.<\/p>\n

He says opening vocational training centres for its students especially girls, so that by the time they finish high school they will have something to do and be independent.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn this school, we need a vocational training centre for our girls and students, especially when they finish,\u201d Noble said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI called on any embassy that will work with us to realize this because it means empowering after they finish their secondary,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf we give them vocational training, they will be independent. They will not be dependent. They will sustain their lives.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe also need to have agricultural gardens so that we encourage our learners to farm so that they solve food security.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIn our country, we have computer labs in our school. In all our computers, we have rooms for computer labs, but we don\u2019t have computers.\u201d<\/p>\n
