Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The South Sudan cabinet on Friday passed the 2012 Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Terrorism Financing Act 2012 amendment bill 2024.<\/p>\n

The bill was passed in 2012 and it is currently being amended to reflex new developments around the world in areas of Money Laundering and Terrorism.<\/p>\n

Information Minister Micheal Makuei Lueth said the bill which seeks to combat terrorism, was presented to the cabinet by the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Justice Ruben Madol.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cabinet listened to a presentation from the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs Justice Ruben Madol and it was on anti-money laundering and counter terrorism financing act 2012 amendment bill 2024,\u201d Makuei told reporters on Friday.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cThis bill off course is built for fighting terrorism and fighting those who finance terrorism.\u201d<\/p>\n

Makuei said the bill will further be presented at the national parliament for deliberation, after which it will be approved and ratified into law by the president.<\/p>\n
