Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The French Solidarity Organization which specializes in water and environmental sanitation, on Thursday revealed new restrictions imposed by Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) military intelligence in North Darfur State.<\/p>\n

These restrictions concern the entry of materials belonging to the organization which have been stranded at the Chadian border for over three weeks en route to El Fasher town.<\/p>\n

Eng. Idris Mohammed Suleiman, the projects and planning director in the state\u2019s water department, disclosed in an interview with Radio Tamazuj that they received a report from the French Solidarity Organization.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe report indicated that government entities in the state have refused to grant permission for the entry of materials belonging to the organization as part of humanitarian aid,\u201d he said. \u201cThese materials were previously seized at the Chadian borders, despite recent allowances by Sudanese authorities for humanitarian aid to enter through some crossings and airports.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Mohammed, the water department has requested the organization to provide them with a detailed report outlining the type and quantity of the blocked materials to expedite the delivery of the items.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the negative impact of such restrictions, especially given the urgent need for services.<\/p>\n

This publication was unable to obtain an official comment from the military intelligence.<\/p>\n

It is noteworthy that the French Solidarity Organization recently reiterated its commitment to enhancing water sources in western El Fasher. Additionally, it continues its ongoing efforts to provide safe drinking water to numerous displaced persons\u2019 camps and conduct environmental sanitation work in El Fasher.<\/p>\n
