Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudanese President Salva Kiir Mayardit issued several republican decrees on Monday night, dismissing the deputy governors of Jonglei and Upper Nile states.<\/p>\n

In his inaugural decree broadcasted on the state-owned South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC), Kiir dismissed Jacob Akech from his position as deputy governor of Upper Nile State.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, the president appointed former state minister of animal resources, Atong Kuol Manyang Juk, as Akech\u2019s replacement.<\/p>\n

Atong previously served as the minister of animal resources and fisheries until her replacement by a presidential decree last Friday.<\/p>\n

In Upper Nile state, Kiir removed Ayong Awer Lual from the role of deputy governor and appointed Deng Joh as the new deputy governor.<\/p>\n

Joh will now be the most senior member of the ruling SPLM party in the state.<\/p>\n

The president did not provide reasons for these changes.<\/p>\n
