Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>An armed robbery in East Darfur State resulted in the tragic deaths of accountant Bakari Omar Ahmed Bakari and driver Essam Abdullah Mohamed Idris. The perpetrators opened fire before making off with 45 million Sudanese pounds, the salaries meant for workers in Yassin locality.<\/p>\n

The incident occurred yesterday in the Faj Al-Hala area, west of the city of El-Daein, the capital of East Darfur state.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj on Thursday, Abdulghani Adam Yusuf, the Executive Director of Yassin locality, confirmed the details, stating, \u201cThe employees were killed in the Falaj Al-Hala area west of Ad-Daein. The salaries for the workers in Yassin locality for June 2023 were stolen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following the incident, the Security Committee of Yassin locality swiftly convened and took action. The committee, accompanied by civil administration officials, proceeded to Ad-Daein city to meet with the Governor of East Darfur, the Commissioner of Ad-Daein, leaders of the Rapid Support Forces, and the state police. Every effort is underway to apprehend the suspects.<\/p>\n

Mayor Osman Ahmed Mohamed Hussein of Yassin locality informed Radio Tamazuj, \u201cThe incident occurred yesterday in the Falaj Al-Hala area west of Ad-Daein city, resulting in the loss of two employees from our locality. This incident appears to be isolated and does not reflect the character of our community.\u201d He assured residents that government forces are actively pursuing the perpetrators and expressed confidence in their eventual capture.<\/p>\n

Major Mohamed Ali, the Director of Ad-Daein Police, confirmed that a report has been filed regarding the incident and that the suspects are being actively pursued.<\/p>\n
