Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudan\u2019s President Salva Kiir has urged the new Deputy Director-General of General Intelligence Service at the National Security Service (NSS), General Gregory Deng Kuac to work for peace, unity and preserve the country\u2019s security. He was speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the new security official on Monday.<\/p>\n

The president, in the presence of Chief Chan Reec Madut, also witnessed the swearing in of the newly-appointed Mining minister, General Martin Gama. Until his appointment, Abucha served in the Ceasefire Transitional Security Arrangement Monitoring and Verification Mechanism and was an Executive Director in the First Vice President\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardit, President of the Republic, has this morning presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Hon Martin Gama Abucha as the Minister of Mining in the Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity and Major General Gregory Deng Kuac as the Deputy Director-General of General Intelligence Bureau (GIB), National Security Service,\u201d partly reads a statement issued by the office of the president.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe swearing-in ceremony was administered by Chief Justice Chan Reec Madut in the Office of the President,\u201d it added.<\/p>\n

The presidential adviser on security affairs, Tut Gatluak Manime, Presidential Affairs minister, Barnaba Marial Benjamin, Director-General for general security intelligence, Gen. Simon Yien Makuac and former deputy Interior minister, Gen. Salva Mathok Gengdit attended the occasion.<\/p>\n
