Hailu Gonfa Eddosa, Chairperson of the CTSAMVM [Photo Credit by: Bida Elly]<\/b><\/p>\n The Chairperson of the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangement Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAVM), Maj. Gen. Hailu Gonfa Eddosa urged the Revitalised Transitional Government of National Unity (RTGoNU) to expedite the completion of the remaining security arrangement tasks.<\/p>\n Eddosa, who spoke at the CTSAMVM Technical Committee meeting in Juba on Tuesday, stated that the deployment of the Unified Forces is critical for resolving security concerns as well as the December general elections.<\/p>\n \u201cThe deployment of the National Unified Forces is critical for addressing security issues in the Republic of South Sudan and a vital prerequisite for the upcoming elections,\u201d Eddosa said.<\/p>\n He said CTSAMVM had not received any direct breaches of ceasefire since its meeting on 12, March 2024, and applauded parties for their unbarring efforts.<\/p>\n Eddosa lamented that CTSAMVM had not seen more deployments of the Necessary Unified Forces, apart from the 6 per cent out of the planned 83,000 Unified Forces (NUF) reported at the last CTC meeting in March 2024.<\/p>\n He added, \u201cAnd Cantonment Sites and Training centres continue to report the lack of logistic supplies such as food.\u201d<\/p>\n He noted that two reports need CTSAMVM\u2019s attention, and appealed to the CTC members and party representatives to focus on the report to identify ways to protect the truce.<\/p>\n \u201cToday, we have two reports that demand our attention. The first is about the fatal incident in Nassir County between SSPDF soldiers and armed youth where many people died including SSPDF soldiers. The second report concerns the creation of the 12th Division by the SSPDF in Rumbek, Lakes State.
