Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A group of girls in Nyala, the capital of Sudan\u2019s South Darfur State, on Thursday successfully organized a shopping and entertainment exhibition, popularly known as bazaars.<\/p>\n

The event showcased local products and items specifically for girls, in addition to entertainment shows and creating awareness sessions for attendees.<\/p>\n

Yathrib Al-Doum Mohammed, the initiator of the exhibition, told Radio Tamazuj that the bazaar aimed to help citizens break away from the atmosphere of war experienced in Nyala town. She said the idea is a product of the post-war period.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe exhibition has achieved significant success so far, particularly in achieving the goals we set, especially those related to women,\u201d she explained. \u201cWe were able to enhance the sense of empowerment within every female, aiming to emerge from the sadness and bitterness caused by the war.\u201d<\/p>\n

Israa Ali Musa, one of the participants of the exhibition and the owner of a cosmetics products booth, stated that the event provided her an opportunity to shop and meet other girls who have equally suffered from the aftermath of the war.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Moatasim Al-Sir Osman, a member of the For Our Country’s Children Initiative, said that through the exhibition, they were able to conduct awareness campaigns and psychological support sessions for the war affected.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe exhibition showcased games for children and organized competitions to divert their attention from the war,\u201d she explained. \u201cWe also worked on raising awareness among adults and parents, urging them to understand their roles in dealing with their children and assisting them in coping with the conditions imposed by the war.”<\/p>\n

It is worth noting that trade exhibitions, specifically for girls, used to be held regularly before the war reached Nyala. Some of the most popular ones were Bazaar Bannoot Nyala, Nyala Al-Biheer Bazaar, and Ehsan Africano Bazaar.<\/p>\n
