A significant quantity of expired medications was seized and subsequently destroyed on Tuesday in El-Daein city.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Bashir, Director of Pharmacy and Poisons Administration at the East Darfur Ministry of Health, explained to Radio Tamazuj, \u201cThe Pharmacy Administration conducted an inspection campaign on public and private pharmacies, as well as organizational offices, and seized a quantity of expired medications.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He further elaborated, \u201cEvery year, we review pharmacy operating licenses in the first quarter and conduct a campaign to seize expired medications in the second quarter. The quantity seized this year amounts to five truckloads.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Bashir highlighted that they also conduct awareness campaigns and urge pharmacies to dispose of expired medications through self-regulation before inspections occur.<\/p>\n<p>He acknowledged that due to the war, the monitoring process was delayed by two years, resulting in a large quantity of expired medications.
