Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Earlier today, the Juba Electric Distribution Company (JEDCO) stepped up to help children in need have a special Christmas celebration. The power utility company received an excited welcome from the children thanks to their sponsorship of essential food items, sweets, personal hygiene items, stationery, clothing and sandals for the Juba Orphanage.<\/p>\n

This generous donation will help make the New Year much easier for these children and those who care for them. The Juba Orphanage, established on 17 November 1962, has a long and proud history of helping orphaned children in need. Currently, the orphanage is home to 63 children between 3-10 years of age.<\/p>\n

Joseph T. Laku, the Sales and PR manager for JEDCO, says, \u201cWe are very happy to help these vulnerable children. We at JEDCO, take our corporate social responsibilities very seriously and, this is why we offer our assistance to this worthy organisation. All members of society must do what they can to help ensure these children have the support they need. JEDCO is proud to do our bit to help make the festive season a bit brighter for these young orphans.<\/p>\n

Juba Orphanage Director, Angelo Kenyi, was very thankful for JEDCO\u2019s efforts. He says, \u201cWe are very excited to welcome JEDCO here today and we appreciate their contributions as this will go a long way towards helping our children. We are very thankful for these donations as we have several challenges we are currently facing; this includes a shortage of food items, educational material, stationery and we also need to get our kitchen renovated. This donation comes at a much needed time.\u201d<\/p>\n
