Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The situation has returned to normal in Aweil East County of Northern Bahr el-Ghazal State after the death of 13 people from an unknown infection in the Adut Adhot Village in August, authorities and residents said.<\/p>\n

Following the mystery deaths in Warguet Payam, the State Ministry of Health collected samples and sent to Juba for investigations to establish the infection and the measures against it.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj over the weekend, Aweil East County Commissioner Diing Aher Ngong, said the outcome of the investigation had delayed. He, however, confirmed that the there was no cause for alarm and that the residents who had fled from their homes had returned.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe results are yet to be released from Juba but when I was in Juba, I was told that they would be released after some weeks or even months,\u201d said Ngong,<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation is now calm and the residents have returned to their homes after they fled from the unknown deadly disease.\u201d<\/p>\n

Diing Majok said the residents of Adut Adhot Village were healthy and safe. He recounted how the mystery infection had tormented the people and even caused displacements.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe situation is calm and the people have already started movement without worries because a local main road was closed down when the disaster struck,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe road is now open and people are even passing near a residence where many people died,\u201d added Majok.<\/p>\n

Dut Deng also testified that many people had resumed their normal lives although there were fears of the unknown risk.<\/p>\n

\u201cA few people were still panicking, but many have resumed their residences despite the fears,\u201d Deng said.<\/p>\n
